Ghost Recon: Wildlands Trailer Introduces the Ghosts

image description
After remaining dormant for almost a year, Ubisoft has now released another trailer for Ghost Recon: Wildlands that shows how the game’s US Special Forces squad known as the Ghosts will take on a massive open world, with the footage highlighting environments of South America during various seasons. If the trailer is to be believed, then Ghost Recon: Wildlands‘ characters will be traversing through deserts, swamps, forests, jungles, and local villages, while even making their way across icy mountain ranges.
According to the trailer’s description written by Ubisoft, Ghost Recon: Wildlands‘ is set to contain the company’s “largest action-adventure open world,” with players able to trek through areas using upwards of “60 different vehicles.” Additionally, the main thrust of the game will have players attempting to subdue one of South America’s most dangerous drug cartels in order to save Bolivia from complete collapse.
As seen in the footage below, it’s hard to determine what will and won’t be a part of the actual playable portions of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, as practically every piece of the trailer resembles a cut-scene. However, even though relatively little is known about the action-adventure title at this point in time, Ubisoft has promised to reveal more details about the title once E3 2016 rolls around next month.
While the Ghost Recon: Wildlands developers at Ubisoft have remained somewhat secretive about the title up to now, a few months ago the company’s Vice President of Editorial, Tommy Francois, opened up about the extreme lengths the publisher went to to capture Bolivian culture. Apparently, the studio went as far as to train with an elite team of US Army soldiers for the sake of authenticity. For those unaware, Ghost Recon: Wildlands made its debut at last year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, and it was a big surprise to those in attendance and watching at home. Of course, after its announcement, Ubisoft played its cards close to the vest with the game’s details, but even so, many considered its reveal to be one of the best gameplay demos at 2015’s event.
With a lot of concrete details about Ghost Recon: Wildlands‘ in-game materials still being scant, it seems as if fans are just going to have to wait until Ubisoft divulges more information about the title at E3. Naturally, since most people consider the forthcoming expo to be “the Super Bowl of video games,” it’s to be expected that the company will pull out all of the stops when it comes to promoting the action-adventure release.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands currently lacks an official release date, with potential platforms being PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
