The ZUK Z2 is set to be unveiled on the 31st of May, but the specifications of the upcoming flagship device has already been revealed on TENAA. According to the certification of the Z2 in TENAA’s database, it is shaping up to be a powerful Android smartphone in a compact form factor.
In comparison to the ZUK Z2 Pro, which has a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display, the smaller Z2 will be packing a more compact 5-inch 1080p LCD display. While a 0.2 inch difference may not seem significant, it is enough for ZUK to dub the Z2 a “small screen flagship.”
Aside from the display, the ZUK Z2’s other specifications are pretty similar to the Pro variant of the device: it is equipped with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor found in the Z2 Pro (but paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM instead), 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, 13MP rear and 8MP front-facing cameras, as well as Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
Curiously enough, even though the ZUK Z2 is a smaller device than the Pro variant, it is packing a bigger 3,500mAh battery over the 3,100mAh cell of the latter; needless to say, this is quite odd at first glance. Once we took a closer look, we found out that the ZUK Z2 is actually slightly thicker than the Z2 Pro at 7.9mm – the latter device measures only 7.5mm thick. Other than that, tipping the scales at 150g, the Z2 is also 5g heavier than the Z2 Pro.

Now that the ZUK Z2’s specifications have been confirmed on TENAA, all that’s left to know are the retail price and availability of the flagship device, which should be revealed on the 31st of May next week.
