While a great number of Japanese RPGs have made their way successfully to Europe and North America, there are quite a few popular games in this genre that officially never make the cut and remain Japanese-language only affairs. One of these such games is Romancing SaGa 2, which was first released by Square Enix for the Super Famicom back in 1993 but was never officially translated to English — until now. Romancing SaGa 2 has touched down in the Google Play store with a pretty hefty price tag of $17.99.
Despite what you might assume from the title, this is actually the fifth game in the SaGa series, and follows the Emperor or Empress of Avalon as they attempt to rule and guide the Empire. The new Android port includes slightly updated visuals and is optimized for use on touchscreens. There’s also some minor gameplay changes, the addition of new character classes, and a brand new mini-game.
