Mac OS X 10.12 To Have Siri Integration; Dock Icon Revealed Ahead of WWDC

Siri integration for Mac OS X 10.12 was first rumoured back in February and now a leaked screenshot has revealed the supposed icons, suggesting that Siri for Mac is indeed coming to the next major system update.

The screenshots- shared by MacRumors – reveal two new icons: a dock icon that shows the familiar Siri waveform and a black and white menu icon that just says “Siri”. Clicking on either icons will supposedly activate the voice assistant and brings up a visual cue, similar to how it works on iOS devices.

Of course, Siri for Mac is still in its early stage of development and the icons are still tentative. One or both of these icons could be placeholders potentially changing in the future, according to the report.

The report also cites that Siri for Mac will support hands-free activation command via “Hey Siri”. The option is disabled by default however, and can be turned on in the Preferences panel.

Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) is set to kick off on 13th June, where the company is set to unveil OS X 10.12 and iOS 10. Aside from adding Siri support, we might also see apossible renaming of the platform to “MacOS”.
