HTC Confirms Android N Update for HTC 10, HTC One A9 and HTC One M9

Taking advantage of the excitement from Google I/O, Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has took to Twitter to announce that it will be bringing Android N to three of its most popular phones: HTC 10, HTC One A9 and HTC M9.

Surprisingly, the HTC One M8 which admittedly has passed its second birthday, did not make it to the list. Of course, the list is still not finalised as more devices may be added to it. However, a Twitter spokesperson has confirmed that the One M7 will not be getting the latest iteration of Android.

Android N – which is Google’s forthcoming operating system – was detailed with a a slew of new features during the company’s annual developer conference. The company has also announced that that the final version will be rolling out to Nexus devices this summer, with the public beta version already available for eligible devices.

Naturally, Android N for OEM manufacturers like HTC will come much later and given that Android Marshmallow 6.0 was already a slow roll out for HTC devices, we do not expect to see it until 2017. To have a taste of what’s in store for Android N
