Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Gets Official PC System Requirements

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is almost here. The proof of that is EA DICE sharing the official PC system requirements for the game.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows® 7 64-Bit (use the latest Service Pack)
CPU: Intel i3-3250 / AMD FX-6350. (Note: Mirror’s Edge Catalyst requires at least 4 logical cores to run.)
RAM: 6 GB
HARD DRIVE: At least 25 GB of free space
VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 650 Ti 2GB or better / AMD Radeon™ R9 270x or better
INPUT: Keyboard and mouse, dual analog controller

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows® 10 64-Bit (use the latest Service Pack)
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 at 3.4 GHz / AMD FX-8350 at 4.0 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
HARD DRIVE: At least 25 GB of free space
VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 970 4GB or better / AMD Radeon™ R9 280x 3GB or better
INPUT: Keyboard and mouse, dual analog controller

These seem perfectly reasonable for the level of graphics displayed in Mirror’s Edge Catalyst; they’re also in line with the usual system requirements of recent Frostbite powered games.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will have a Closed Beta test from April 22 to April 26. There’s no way to make it in for sure, but if you’ve been selected you will receive your code via email either on April 22 or 23.

Closed Beta participants will be able to try out several of the main missions in Faith’s story, Side Missions, other optional content, and the Social Play features Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has to offer.

Social Play is the most recent feature revealed, allowing players to connect and compete with each other. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be available on May 24 in North America and May 26 in Europe for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; as usual, subscribers of EA/Origin Access on Xbox One/PC will be able to play earlier.

In the developer diary video, you will learn how to create your own Time Trials among the rooftops of Glass. The DICE team will also explain how to take on the challenging Dashes they’ve created. Go for the record time by perfecting your technique and route!

Another Social Play feature is the Beat Location Emitters, which you can place in the city of Glass for your friends to find. Furthermore, using the Companion App and website, you can customize your social profile and browse through leaderboards.
