KFC India’s “Watt a Box” Can Store Your Meal and Charge Up Your Gadgets

It looks like when your order KFC in India, you will get more than just chickens, side dishes and a drink. The fast food restaurant chain recently launched the “Watt a Box”, a 5-in-1 meal box that comes with a built-in power bank so you don’t have to worry about your phone running out of battery while you’re enjoying your meal.

The box, which can be won through contests held at selected stores or via an online contest on KFC India’s Facebook page, comes with magnetic flaps and when you open it, you will find your meal inside. The power bank is located on the side, and also comes with micro USB and Lightning cables so you can charge a wide variety of devices.

Sadly though, according to BGR who got their hands on a Watt a Box, the power bank claims to have 6100mAh battery inside, but it only gave an iPhone 5s 17% of battery before running out. The Redmi Note 3 however, only gained 7% of charge before the Watt a Box ran out of power again.

This is not the first of its kind. Other eateries have been adding extra features to their otherwise useless boxes like McDonald Sweden’s Happy Meal box that doubles as a VR viewer, Pizza Hut’s limited edition box in Hong Kong converts into a projector for smartphones, and Coca Cola also turns its carton boxes into VR headsets.
